Venue Hire

Set amongst native bushland located close to the Wollombi Brook, this area provides the perfect, peaceful learning environment.

Minimbah Teaching Place has a combination of indoor, outdoor, and bush areas available to hire for your event. This venue is suitable for cultural and environmental education and has been used by schools, indigenous and environmental organisations, universities, government, and not-for-profit groups.

Facilities

Large TV & Sound System

Audio visual: 82-inch display television with HDMI connection, sound system, microphone. Please bring your own laptop.

Commercial Kitchen

Commercial kitchen with gas oven, fridge, dishwasher, servery from kitchen to meeting room, tea and coffee making facilities, barbeque.

Teaching Resources

Replica artefacts such as weapons, spears and food making implements. Outside you’ll find storyboards that help bring the rich history to life.

Outdoor Spaces

There are plenty of outdoor spaces for activities and camping.

Auditorium style: 60 People
U-shape: 25 People
Banquet style: 60 People
Cocktail / standing: 100 People (Indoor meeting room and outdoor undercover area combined).

Fees

School and educational cultural activities
There will be no hire fee for school groups or groups using Minimbah Teaching Place for cultural activities.

Corporate bookings for education and cultural activities
There is currently no hire fee for companies using Minimbah Teaching Place for cultural activities.

General information

Minimbah Teaching Place is a self-managed venue. Room setup and catering are the responsibility of the hirer.

14 plastic trestle tables and 72 chairs are included in the venue hire. The trestle tables seat up to 6.   

Room setup and pull down is the responsibility of the hirer.

  • Electric oven with gas hotplates, fridge, dishwasher
  • Mugs, plates, bowls, cutlery, and glasses for 35 people
  • Basic cooking equipment including utensils, pots, pans, cutting boards, and knives
  • Toaster, kettle, urn, microwave
  • Tea and coffee supplies
  • Mobile gas barbeque with 2 gas outlets located in an undercover area
  • Tap water for drinking.
Facilities include:

  • 3 unisex toilets (wheelchair accessible)
  • 1 outdoor shower.
Please tidy up after your event and leave it as you found it.
Catering is the responsibility of the hirer. We can provide a list of local caterers if needed.
Disability access level – easy.

Minimbah Teaching Place is located 15km south of Singleton in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW. Click here for directions.

Directions from Singleton

  • Turn left onto Charlton Road from Putty Road.
  • Travel approximately 2.8km and turn right onto the Minimbah dirt access road, at the signs.

Directions from Broke/ Cessnock

  • Turn left onto Charlton Road from Broke Road.
  • Travel approximately 8km and turn left onto dirt access road.
Car parking

  • There is an all-weather dirt access road to the car park.
  • The carpark includes 2 disabled car spaces.
  • The carpark is accessed via a locked gate, a key is included with hire.
  • There are 40 car spots without bus parking (30 with bus parking).

Bus parking

There is a suitable park up and turning circle for buses in the venue carpark.  For larger groups, please discuss parking arrangements with us at the time of booking.

Key collection and entry will be arranged with the hirer when the booking is confirmed.

The Wi-Fi password will be supplied to the hirer when the booking is confirmed.

Minimbah Teaching Place is a sustainable building with solar panels, tank water and a biocycle septic system. 

Pets and domestic animals (other than certified assistance animals) are not permitted at Minimbah Teaching Place or the Wollombi Brook Conservation Area.
